Mother's Day Pictures

I

I'm too tired for words,
but still wanted to give
you all something else
to look at besides the
museum! Have a GREAT weekend. I'll try to catch
you up on all the news AFTER Michael's birthday! I should have
a lot of pics them!
These are just the rest of
our Mother's Day pictures
taken up in Eden Park.
We didn't really get any great
family shots except the
one on the side. It's extremely
hard....unbelievably
hard to get 5 people looking at the
camera and not at each other....oh...
and try then for a smile....maybe
next time! LOL!

Creation Museum Opens

We're very proud to be right across the
river from the Creation Museum that just opened
this past week. Ken Ham and Answers in Genesis have built this
$27 million dollar facility over several years. We walked through
once when it was still under construction, but
now are very anxious to see it since it's open to the public.

The opening of the museum, has gotten quite a bit of media coverage.
Both here in our area, and national attention as well.
You can read more about it by clicking on this link. Also,
I'm including a link that was emailed to me.

It shows a little
of the coverage it's been getting and also some
of the dinosaurs. While watching this little
clip, Michael kept asking me if the dinosaurs were really real.

Blogger Moms Day Out!

Ever read someone's blog and find yourself wishing you could sit around and just chat with that person? Or maybe you've read about a funny "kid" saying or incident and you find yourself thinking, "That sounds just like something MY kid would do or say". Well, here's a day just for you! I'm the blog reader I've just been describing, and I've decided to do something more than just wish. It's called "Blogger Moms Day Out" and all blogging Moms are invited!
Date: June 8th
The time: 11:00 Am till ????
The place: Totter's Otterville, located inside Johnny's Toys in Latonia KY.
This is an amazing, large indoor/outdoor play place for kids ages 0-10yrs. There is a $6.95 admission charge per child. Adults are free. Although they do not allow outside food or drinks, they offer a large variety of foods at their cafe. There are plenty of seats surrounding the toy area for Moms to sit and just chat. I've invited another blogger Mom, Kelly S, from our church, who is planning to attend as well.
I've posted pictures of some of the play areas. In addition there is a trolley (free with admission) that runs at noon every day. Kids can get unlimited rides. Outside there is also a fishing pool, a maze, and a climbing gym. Indoors, in addition to the pics I've posted, there is also an Animal Hospital (stocked with pets and medical supplies) a floral shop (stocked with flowers and vases, pots, and cash registers), a water play area, a train area with several train tables, a dollhouse/animal play area, a face-painting area, a dress-up room, a playhouse area, and a ballet room. When I take my kids, we make a day out of it. First of all, I want to get my money's worth, but also, it's tough dragging my kids away. There is just so much to see and do

A tiny kitchen and restaurant where kids can
serve of be served. This time Michael was the cook, and
Katie Stamper and Morgan Marshall were the "victims".

Martha Castle shows off her engineering/building skills
in the waffle block room.

Kids enjoy the ball pit, jungle gym area.

Moms chat way, while kids play. L to R: Lanee
Marshall, Martha Castle, Becky Marshall, and Jennifer Welch.

Kids get soaked on a hot day. Needless to say, I think this is
Michael's favorite place.

Lauren and Brianna Marshall decided to ROLL in
the sandpit after a good soak in the sprinklers. Yuck....my van has
never been the same. LOL!

The Construction Zone. A huge gravel pit full of
Tonka trucks and lots of other "boy" toys.

There's a special "soft" room just for babies. (Babies 9mo. or younger
get in free.)

The store that is stocked with groceries, carts, and cash registers.

The art room contains several tables where kids can
do the craft of the day. It also has plenty of easels for creativity.

Come and join the fun! It will be worth your drive....even if you have to drive from Frankfort! (Hear that, Angie? and bring Sarah with you!)

Monday's Memory

Last week, as I was cleaning out the closet, I ran across some old annuals. Chris and I shared many laughs....the biggest ones were at ourselves. Wow...I sure hope I look better these days....please tell me I do.. suicide would quickly come to mind if I thought I still looked this terrible. I guess marriage and kids can help a person sometimes...in more ways than one!!!

Of the pictures I've posted, 18 have blogs or are married to a blogger.
.
The question is, which 18? Can you identify all of them? No peeking at annuals either!!!

Awww....plenty of room for two boys
in between!!! LOL!

I guess my poor cropping job
gave this one away!!!

Weekly news.......

This week has been a full one...not terribly crazy, but busy. I've
had considerably more energy this week, so I just decided to
make good use of it and try not to spend much time here at the computer.
The above picture, was a "surprise" from the kids. They had
been quite a "challenge" during a shopping trip earlier in the day,
so they came down after supper with a "cake" (made from assorted
candies), a "pitcher" of water, a drinking cup, and a shoe box full of
presents. The presents were pictures they had drawn and letters
Lauren had written. They were wrapped up in tissues, and secured
with pony tail holders.
It was all so sweet, but I have to admit, I did have a difficult
time drinking the water from the stacking cup! Had to turn my mind
off to get that down!! They insisted
they had washed it in the upstairs bathroom with hand soap.....hhmmm
Well, truth is, I'm still here. I guess the soap IS anti-bacterial!! :)

I bought flower pots and got my Mother's Day flowers planted.

Even my flower box is done.

Friday afternoon, I picked up my sewing machine from getting it serviced. By
Fri. night, I had made a set of PJ's for Lauren, out of some fabric
from my m-i-l. I spent about 2 1/2 hrs. on them and had lots
of fun. So, I may not be back for a visit for a while...I"m halfway done
with a dress for Lauren, and have a stack of things I
want to do yet. I guess you
could say, it's my new addiction. Chris is not
complaining...it's keeping me out of the stores!!!!
I'll post finished products as I get them done! Have a great weekend!

Early Mother's day...

I've already had a bit of Mother's Day celebrating today. Since
my Mom was here, she offered to watch the kids so Chris and I
could go out to eat this morning. (Thanks, Mom) I hadn't had
Cracker Barrel breakfast for a long time! Then this afternoon,
the kids went shopping with Chris and gave me these flowers
as soon as they got home....they would've been a little hard to hide!
I was wanting some flowers for my flower box out front, so
I was a happy mama!

Around lunch today, my Mom left. She was here for a few
days helping me get caught up on my housework. She's a
hard worker and always manages to get lots done and make me feel better!
My basement got cleaned, the laundry done, ironing mostly done...
you get the picture. Since I've been sick and needed more help,
my mom has really been there for me. I wonder if there's ever
really a time when we no longer need our mothers. I think we always need
the love and advice only they can give...they know us like no one else....
I hope you all have a wonderful Mother's Day tomorrow!
