What would you have said???

A few days ago, I was on the phone being questioned for an up-coming research project. I frequently get these calls and enjoy participating in the focus groups if I qualify.
The last question I was asked was, "If you could spend an entire day with any public figure, who would it be and why?" I had never been asked this question before, and so for once, I was at a loss for words. I thought for a few moments, my mind just spinning with possibilities and after about 10 seconds responded with "I guess Dr. James Dobson. The lady responded with "Who??" I explained who he was and the reason why was "because I would just question him from dawn till dark about parenting, children, marriage and such because my husband and kids are pretty much my favorite things and I want to be the best mom/wife I can be". She said, "Well....that's original. Usually we get the president, (I of course had thought of him, but what would we talk about for an entire day???) or various other political figures. " I got the research project. I doubt it was all based on that question, however.
Want to know my runner-up?? Laura Bush. I also thought Oprah would be a very entertaining person to be with as well.
As soon as I hung up, I knew I had a great question for the blog... :) I'm so curious as to what other people would say...especially other Moms. So there you have it...now I will sit back and enjoy your answers! Have a great weekend.

Hmmm, that's an interesting question. I've just been paying some bills, so maybe Dave Ramsey?? He could let his words do some walkin'!! :-)

I am not a mom =) but I agree with you on Laura Bush. Another pick of mine would be Condoleeza Rice. She (in my opinon)is one of the smartest women out there now plus she's a pianist.

Hi! Saw your blog on Amy's site. Dobson is a great answer! I'll join you on that one. Chonda Pierce would be fun too. =) I would also love to spend a day with John Lyons or another famous horse trainer like him. I feel like I'll never quite figure out the mystery of a horse's mind! =)

You have had me thinking about this for days! :-) The two people I have always wanted to meet in person are now gone - Ronald Reagan & Princess Di. So, since I have to settle with leftovers (Ha), I think I might choose Rush or Sean. Maybe Hillary Clinton. I would love to speak to her alone and pick that awful liberal brain. Martha Stewart would be another favorite. Nancy Reagan. Calvin Jones (pianist). Lorie Line (pianist).
Hmmm. . .Still pondering. . .

Wow! Don't rightly know! If Lady Di would've have been alive, it would have been fun to chat with her, and see her in person, but she wasn't the greatest person value wise, so I would've wanted only about 1 hour with her. Dr. Dobson was a good choice too.

Just thought I'd let you know that I used your comment about Sis. Wolf singing "I have decided to stay married" and posted a post called, "My Thoughts", and I included Sis. Wolf and you saying that she used that song. =)

Have a good day,
Love, Heather =)

I am a dad not a mom but I saw this post over Heather my wife's shoulder and thought that you asked a very intriguing question. My public figure of choice would be a Christian, a USA military veteran, a husband of 50 years, a successful father of 5, a grandpa, a doctor who has delivered over 4,000 babies, an anti-abortionist, a patriot, a strict constitutionalist, a 10 time congressman who has chosen for concience sake to never accept entitlements and has NEVER for any reason voted to raise taxes, an engaging debater and public speaker (YouTube his speaches), and now he is a Republican presidential contender for 2008 and has my vote. I would love to spend a day with the Honorable Ron Paul. www.ronpaul2008.com

I love seeing all the different answers! I loved Phillip's political plug he got in there!

If I could go back in time, I would love to spend a day with Regina Stetler when she was raising her children. Her children have all turned out to love God and holiness and they all have such a sweet disposition. It is my greatest desire to raise my children to be GROUNDED as she has - ALL of them!

Honestly, I can't think of anyone famous I would want to spend more than a few hours with! If I think of someone, I'll let you know!

Dare I say? Dr. Phil or Christian child psychologist, Kevin Leman.

Hillary Clinton is an interesting choice. Makes me wonder if we spent the day just chatting, if we'd come away still feeling that she's the monster we think she is.

We might have an entirely different view of someone if just sat and chatted with them for an entire day!

Hey everybody. I really enjoyed your comments. I enjoyed the male perspective too. Thanks Phillip!
Leanna, I thought Condoleeza Rice would be interesting too, but I think she would get the bad end of the deal.I'm not sure I could compete in her arena. Then again, she might find my "Wife/Mommy life" intriguing.
Kelly, your comment was interesting as well. I think had the requirement not been "well known public figure", I could have come up with more options too. I guess as Moms we all have our ideals, or role models. One mother who I find fascinating is Sr. Keaton. Her children have turned out well...many of them in ministry.. I'm just in awe of ANYONE who could raise 9 kids in a parsonage and live to tell about it. :)
Carrie: I agree Dr. Phil would be interesting as well. I think he would be easy to be around, and I imagine he would have lots of great advice as well. I also agree that Hillary or others whom we might not agree with, are very nice people in many ways. Just because we don't agree with them, is not a good reason to want to "claw their eyes out". It might be good exercise for our(my)grace and character. LOL.
If Lady Di were wtill alive, I think she would have topped my list as well. There's always something SO fascinating to we girls about royalty and princesses. We are just born that way. And truly, she was a very beautiful, seemingly down-to-earth princess.

Thanks everybody.
